Our Christmas

With this posting I at least get caught up to the new year! Carol came in this Christmas for a visit and we were thrilled. Lisa wasn't able to come since she had changed jobs this year and didn't have the vacation time. Lisa's like me, we have a lot less vacation time than Carol and Mike who've accumulated vacation over 30 years with their work.

We got together the weekend before Christmas but we didn't mind at all since the kids could all come, and we had a great time. This year we decided to change how we typically exchange gifts. We decided on a game theme this year and each person brought 1 game to exchange. Olivia and Alyssa got a present from everyone. Poor girls tho because by the time we had supper and then got around to opening presents the girls were tired and ready for bed. They were more interested in the paper and ribbon anyway. Tim and Steph bought the girls some really cute outfits and Mike and I bought them a stroller type walker and some soft dolls, along with one toy each. We had also seen a great sale at Wal Mart for a horse jumper and sent it home with the girls. Olivia loved it right away but Alyssa wasn't too sure at first. She eventually got the hang of it. It was so funny to see the girls jumping away in that, and now they're like wild women in it. So funny to see! We surprised everyone this weekend by buying a Wii and we had a ball with it. Really made the weekend fun and it's the kind of sports that anyone can play!

Alyssa and Olivia are doing so much now. Olivia has just started crawling, and of course they seem to babble all the time. Hmmm, wonder who they take after? We can tell Alyssa's not far from crawling also and they both have their 2 bottom teeth. They are just so much fun. We can see their own personalities coming through. We predict Alyssa will be much like Julia when she was a child, a little more subdued, thoughtful, and a little shy, reluctant to try things at first. Olivia seems to be out there, more demanding, ready to try things, and we call her our little drama queen. We will see how they actually develop.

Now how cute is this?

have been napping)

Alyssa and Olivia (I can see why most people
have trouble telling them apart--occasionally
we do too!)

If we'd only known the ribbon would be just as
great as the toys!

Christmas presents! The girls walker/strollers
with baby dolls.

Aunt Steph entertaining Olive and Alyssa

Tim and Steph opening presents, while Tim
feeds Alyssa. Steph got Don't Forget the Lyrics
Game, perfect for her!

likely just playing with the wrapping.

Too much Christmas......

for everyone!

Olivia in the jumper.

Olivia crawling, she gets her butt up in the
air, uses her forearms, and then away she goes!

Just thought this was a funny picture, Doug and
Julia back to back feeding the girls.

Uncle Tim had a turn too!

Alyssa posing for the camera. It's so funny that
they always smile after the flash so they've already
got the idea. Now if we could get them to smile
before we take the picture.

Olivia

When the kids were little we used to always
play with them for a few minutes in the mornings
in our bed. It's fun to do the same thing with Olivia
and Alyssa.

Back to Back--Olivia on the left and Alyssa on the right

Olivia is always putting her hand on Alyssa.
Too cute!
